The Macarthur Schools Joint 1:1 Staff Professional Learning Day is an initiative to support teachers in their move to a 1 child-1 laptop(1:1) learning environment in 2008. This posting supports a session on Web 2.0 tools delivered on the day.

This session will look at a selection of web 2.0 tools that can be integrated into your classroom practice immediately.

The presentation can be found below, hosted on slideshare and the examples displayed can be found at http://del.icio.us/MarkWoolley/MacPDDay

    I have learnt a little more about Web2.0-Great learning tools-but I have to get more familiar with these before I can use them with my students Thanks a lot.

    This session was really enlightening – thanks Mark. I have learnt a lot as it has been a hands on experience and a lot of individual help.

    I found the workshop very informative as I enrolled with only very minimal knowledge about ‘wikis’ and ‘blogs’. I have been enlightened with the basic skills of being able to create a blog that is highly relevant and applicable for immediate use with all of my classes, particularly with trying to keep in check with my senoir students.

    Very good, Mark. I was able to follow what you were talking about with each application and I felt that you didn’t get bogged down in any one item. Quite enjoyed the wiki stuff. Thanks.

    Very useful – hadn’t even heard of these things, but I think it’s going to be better than “myclasses” for my students. Would like to do some more PD for this stuff, especially the wikis. If useful, I’ll send you a link if my kids get up and running with this?

    useful for;
    podcasts

    All good.

    Absolutely fabulous. I must admit with 13 and 14 year old boys I was feeling a bit tentative about all the new “things”.

    Thanks to this session it has stripped some of the mystery away, although I know I will still need to find a bit of time and guidance to be more confident.

    From a very grateful workshop participant!
